i haven't been completely unproductive...yet, i've been working, watching the birds in my parent's backyard, and becoming increasingly more annoyed with other drivers...ha

mewithoutyou has a new album out tomorrow...i really believe the best song on the new release is 'every thought a thought of You'...however, i haven't really heard but 3 songs from it

'No one here to believe but You
Everyone else is bound to leave but You
When they swear their love is real
They mean "I like the way you make me feel"
No one here to believe but You
There's no one here to believe than You'

"Our God comes and will not be silent; a fire devours before Him and around Him a tempest rages" Psalm 50:3

-the first is a 'detailed' image, a close-up
-second is the full painting

this i did back in november...i have great appreciation for antiques, especially old dusty books (particularly hymnals). while procrastinating on some work, i took a page from one of the hymnals that i had recently found and held it up to my desk lamp...what i found really interested me (and i ended up looking at this page for what seemed a half hour)...

musical script is simply beautiful to me...and as i held the withered and yellowed page up to the light i was fascinated by the new transparent mingling of the staffs from both sides of the page...

also at the time i was taking a class on color theory. one thing that really interested me as i was going through the class was the play of light with color...and i could probably go on and on about that but i'll leave it simple...

it says in 1 Corinthians 14 that "God is not a God of disorder, but of peace". i've been working on this painting with that in mind...God has this awesome way of taking everything that is causing me to worry, and compacting it to a size that i can deal with
